Omaha High Low poker rules:

The mistery around Omaha High Low revelead:

Okay first to remove some misconceptions, here again you must know the standards poker hands, nothing more in means of hands building okay? Now here comes the harder part of the rules.

Basically Omaha type of poker game is almost the same in terms of rules like the Texas Hold'Em popular variation, which if you are not familiar with can read about in the section 'Texas Hold'Em Rules'. Exactly like there players are given their hold cards private for them only to see which here are not two, but four dealt exactly in the same fashion - dealing, betting round, then face-up cards come on the scene. But that's just the first main difference between Omaha and Texas Hold'Em

When dealing rounds begin showing public cards on the table they are being dealt until reaching a number of 5 up cards, of course with a betting round after every card put out disposed. Here as you can guess and calculate you or whoever takes part in an Omaha game of poker has altogether 9 cards, but make no mistake about it: you cannot play with all the cards in your hands and on the table. You can choose up to three cards held in yourself and 2 more among the visible for all of the opponents. That way you again have the total number of 5 playing cards to form your winning hand, but you have to choose carefully cause the other cards left after the 5-combo are not actually useless.

Here comes the term "High Low" which is the expansion of the Omaha game of poker. High Low comes after the high and low hands you can build with the 9 cards you've got in your arsenal against the others (5 of which you share with them).

Omaha High variation is played with the standard understanding as in every other poker game that the highest possible hand wins the pot. There is nothing more non-standard in Omaha High except for the above mentioned key game elements.

Omaha Low. Now here you should pay attention and be very careful if you haven't been in the Low hands play cause when getting into Omaha Low you don't win with the highest hand but with the lowest possible. And it's a little bit confusing cause you have to get again a high hand like in terms of a combination that may be a Straight, but in order to be winning it should be the lowest straight compared to other players' straights if there are such in the particular case. For example imagine after the showdown you have 54321 build by combining 51 from the holds and 432 from the table, and one of your opponents has the 109876 again 2+3, then guess what? You will be the one having winning hand cause it's the lowest between the two.
